RE: Ferry Naxos to Santorini

Hello. We are planning a day trip to Santorini from Naxos. What is the latest return time we can take from Santorini to Naxos? Which website can we find the ChampionJet ferry to book this excursion? Is one day too little time? Thank you in advance.

Essentially the ferry schedules do not lend themselves to day trips because there is not enough time before the ferries turn around for their afternoon return trips.
However because you are on Naxos you can take an excursion to Santorini. There are two excursion boats, the Alaxander and the Naxos star. They both do a one day Santorini tour. They do not do Santorini on the same day so you probably have at least 4 days to choose from. You can buy your tickets at any travel agency on Naxos waterfront. If the sea is even a bit choppy I would choose the Alaxander which is a bit more stable in a chop.

Thank you for replying! We will be in Greece June 11th-21st. Is there any other one day island excursions you would recommend from Naxos instead of Santorini? I've read quite a few forum responses about Santorini in regards to the crowds and how much it has changed. My desire to see it is because of all the beautiful pictures I've seen of it. That might not be the best reason to go there. We will be in Naxos for the first five nights. Then we will be staying in Nafplio for at least three nights. We are ending our trip in Athens before our flight home.

Mykonos is close. You could visit as a ferry day trip. I have done it — gone to Mykonos from Naxos for lunch and the afternoon. Paros is also close, but I have never been there.

You might look at excursions to Delos, the archaeological sit near Mykonos, you may be able to get a combined Delos/Mykonos tour as well. Mykonos town is interesting and worth an afternoon.

Yes those two tour boats also do a Delos/Mykonos excursion.

Frankly with only 5 nights in Naxos you do not have sufficient time to see everything Naxos offers. Why bother taking a side trip Naxos will give you a true Greek Experience something Mykonos and Santorini don't do.

I was disappointed that I got to Naxos about a week after the last excursion to Delos/Mykonos of the season because I have a great interest in archaeology. Skip Santorini - you'd be there with all the day trippers and miss the charming bits - too far for too little.
