Private Tour Guide in Athens

We will be spending 2 days in Athens in September 2019 and I'm wondering about hiring a guide for one day. Does anyone have anyone they can recommend or any other suggestions?

I believe in the RS guidebook there are suggestions for private guides in Athens. If you don’t have the book, you should purchase it or get it from your local library.

This useful website https://tourguides.viator.com/Listing.aspx?Country=Greece&Region=Attiki&City=Athens lists 64 private guides in the Athens area... and gives ALL the info you need to make a decision. Photo & Bio of each guide, his/her credentials, specialty, reviews from past users, and very importantly, his/her fees per hour, or half day, or day. You contact them directly, and if y ou wish, they'll tailor your day to your specific interests. I have heard great things about these guides ... y ou certainly can learn more ahead of time than just getting a name from someone.

We used Aristotle koskinos who is I think the 4th one down on the list. We had him for a four hour tour of Athens starting with the Acropolis. We had a mixed group in terms of interests and I actually chose him because a woman with 13 year old twins posted about how well he related to her children. That said my brother in law who regularly goes to Athens wanted his card for a future trip.

He related well to our group of 7 and is extremely well informed. He was prompt with emails and met us at our air Bnb from which we walked to the acropolis.
