My husband and I are spending a week in Crete in 2018 and I would like to book a private guide for the Palace at Knossos, does any one have any they loved?

In recommending private guides over past several years, I have found this VIATOR website to book private guides to be the most reliable - https://tourguides.viator.com/Listing.aspx?Country=Greece&Region=Crete&City=Heraklion You filter by locations so Heraklion would also cover Knossos, or u could hire for Knossos only. It lists available guides, w photo and credentials AND specifics of rates PLUS reviews. Pick out a few, and u contact them directly, then make a decision.

We took an outstanding tour of Knossos two years ago with George Spyridakis, a highly experienced guide and a leader of his professional association there. He took us around central and eastern Crete over three days, based in Heraklion. Very knowledgeable, excellent English, personally charming and agreeable. I doubt if you could do better, but I expect any of those listed on the website would do a good job if George isn't available.
