we have rented apartments and it would be great to have a break from dinners out. Any places that have some prepared food to get for take out? In Rome we did great by swinging by Roscioli which had delicious food and breakfast pastries and saved us a few lunches out.
And anything open in Athens on Easter? We will be driving from Meteora to Athens on Easter and wonder if there will be an opportunity to eat (I have 13 year old boys who are well... ALWAYS hungry). Any tips?

I'm not sure quite what kind of thing your looking for, or where in Athens you are staying. If you are looking for deli type food and are central it might be worth checking out Kostarelos, a famous cheese makers. They have various outlets but their new flagship is in Kolonaki and does a large range of Greek products and sandwiches.

In Nafplio a similar, but not as extensive, selection is available in Eklektopoleio. Even if you don't speak Greek the pictures on their site will give an idea and there is a map.

If you want take out meals it's common now in Greece for restaurants to do food 'se paketo', literally 'in the packet', for take away. Many now also deliver. Your apartment is likely to have pizza menus and such like pushed through the door.
