Hi,
Looking for some ideas of places to see before the RS Greece tour in May. We were thinking of Crete or Corfu.
Any additional ideas would be great.

Crete is a wonderful place to visit. Focus on Western Crete with the historic cities of Chania and Rethymnon. You will see influences there from a series of conquerors, Turkish in particular.

How much time to you have?
That can make a big difference on where to go either long distance or somewhere closer to Athens.
Lots of options but we need more info on your time available and what your interests are.

Following! We are booked for the May 10th Greece 14 day tour in 2025 and also interested in visiting an island before the beginning of the tour. Probably 3 days in advance of the tour. Appreciate recommendations!

We are on the Greece tour, starts in just over 2 weeks. We arrive Athens one week before. 1 night by airport, next day fly to Naxos for 3 nights, ferry back to Athens, three nights on our own before the tour starts; there’s a lot to see and enjoy in Athens that the tour doesn’t experience.

4 to 5 days is not a lot of time for Crete, which is a huge island. I recommend Santorini, Naxos, or Paros.

We went on the RS Greece tour, it was fabulous. The best of the RS tours that we have taken.
Following the tour, we flew (round trip) to Naxos for four nights. We rented a car and explored the island. I highly recommend.
Something we learned during the tour was that ferries can be cancelled, which happened to us during the tour. This caused a change in our schedule, which turned out okay but lengthened our time on a bus.
