Places to stay in the Peloponnese

In Gythio we’ve stayed in the Pantheon. It’s absolutely fine and has an excellent position and view.

If I was staying in the Argos area I’d stay in Nafplio. It’s very close and has a lot of advantages: less traffic, more restaurants, beautiful town, on the sea.

I am heading there in May so can't recommend the specifics yet, but I always use Booking.com and this trip has been no exception--that way you can search by what is available and what is tailored to your specific needs (parking, location, balcony, etc.). I started looking in February and some places were booked already. There are some fantastic looking places in Monemvasia but we ultimately cut that from our plans.

I'd recommend spending a day on a beach chair under an umbrella at Kalogria Beach in nearby Stoupa.

And I agree with Alan's preference of staying in Nafplio over Argos. Nafplio is absolutely wonderful.
