Pelion Culinary/Village Tour

I’m spending about 2.5 day’s in the Pelion Peninsula, likely staying in Tsagarada. My friend and I won’t have a car and are hoping to do a culinary / village tour of the Peninsula on one of the days. Ideally this would be a private tour but if it’s a small group tour we’d consider it. Any ideas?

I'm not aware of any organized tours in this area, but have visited the Pelion Peninsula and stayed in Tsagarada a few times. Unless it has changed in terms of tourist development in the past decade, the villages and towns are quite spread apart with steep and twisty drives in between. It is easiest to visit with your own car, possibly renting in Volos, then driving to suit your own agenda. The beaches and views are spectacular. Don't miss Milopotamos beach.

Hello!

I come from this region but I never heard of a food tour, so I had to check. You might want to ask for info here it is the closest city near Mt. Pelion. I think it will be hard to find an organized food tour on the mountain. You could always ask your hotel for info. I found this one as well you might want to send them an email for more.

Mt. Pelion is full of picturesque villages, with good accommodation options. Traditional mansions have been converted to guest houses <3 Makrinitsa, Vyzitza and Milies are a must see. There are many walking trails in the area. If you are into hiking you'll love this place! The coastal area of Damouchari is also very beautiful if you want something near the sea. Mt. Pelion has many spectacular beaches on the eastern coast. This is the reason I prefer to visit the mountain during summer... Villages like Tsangarada, Mouresi and Zagora are great for exploration. The village squares will astound you, there are plane trees everywhere... Lush and green! I miss it already...

Note that in early and late season the evenings can be quite chilly up in the mountain villages, even during the summer.
Chania village -which is at the top of the mountain- could have 14 degrees Celsius in August!
