Passengers need to be at ferries 90 minute before departure

There’s been a shift in Greek regulations on boarding ferries. As people have pointed out in other threads the situation is changing really frequently but I thought the latest change might be of interest

We are in Greece. People walk up to the ferry 5-10 minutes before boarding. One just has to fill out and hand over a simple form. Sometimes coast guard officers are checking vaccination and test forms as people board, but NOT 90 minutes before the ferry sails.

As the article says the rules only changed yesterday. Of course people may not be sticking to them!

Well we took a ferry from Kithnos to Piraeus on Saturday, July 17, and from Piraeus to Aegina this morning July 18. This is Greece, nothing much has changed. The ferry from Kithnos was 20 minutes late arriving in Kithnos so people were there waiting but the coast guard was not. Just the usual boarding. No checking of vaccination cards or Covid tests. Leaving from Piraeus there were two coast guard officials checking vaccination cards and tests as people boarded. No one was checked in advance and people came to board the ferry at the last minute, no problem.
