Palatia Hotel or Lefkes Studios in Naxos

Hello,

I am looking for accommodations near Agios Georgios Beach in Naxos for myself and my husband plus our adult daughter from June 15-20 in Naxos. After searching many recommendations on the forum and reviews on Booking.com, I've narrowed down to what look like two good options:

Hotel Palatia, which is near the beach and has two twin rooms with balcony and sea views. The rooms have refrigerators. This is the more expensive option. I don't think they have non-smoking rooms, which is a drawback.

Lefkes Studios, which has a large studio with a sea view terrace, and a smaller studio for our daughter. It looks nice and is very budget-friendly. It also is a non-smoking property. It is just a bit farther from the beach. Since restaurants are very reasonably priced in Greece, I'm less concerned about having a kitchen, but do like the non-smoking feature and the price.

For those of you familiar with the area, are there any strong pros or cons that you are aware of for either of these properties? Quiet rooms would be one factor that would affect our decision.

Thank you!

If it were my choice I would choose Palatia. It is just about 30 second walk to the beach. It is behind a taverna so in the second rank of buildings but the sea views are really good. We used to stay at Hotel Glaros right beside Palatia. and can confirm its a good location and will not be noisy at night.

I am not familiar with Lefkes but I did look it up on the map. It is located in a built up area. While it is a short walk to the beach I would prefer Palatia simply because it is so close to the beach.

I don't think they have non-smoking rooms, which is a drawback.

Go to the Hotel Palatia page on booking.com

https://www.booking.com/hotel/gr/palatia.html

At the bottom of the page, in "room type" select the rooms.
You will see at the bottom of the description “non smoking room”

Book directly with the hotel

Stanbr and JoLui: Thank you. I was hoping I would hear from you both.

JoLui: I don’t know how I missed the non-smoking info. Maybe because my head was spinning from finding so many options. I do book directly after checking booking.com.

Edited to add that I seriously considered Sifnos, based on JoLui’s suggestion, but since our time is limited and I get seasick, I decided we needed an island with an airport.

Stanbr, I will. I find writing a report is just as much fun as making a photo book.

It's an interesting trip. We are traveling with our adult daughter. Because of her job we can't go until mid-June. She chose Greece for the trip, but because we are concerned about the heat, we are only spending 8 nights in Greece (5 Naxos, 3 Athens) and then heading to the Netherlands for 12 nights of cooler weather. I'm hoping my husband and I can return to Greece in the future for a longer trip.

Mid June this year the temperature was 35 C by mid day. Having a hotel close to the beach gives you ample opportunity to cool off quickly. Of course the temperature cools in the evening in Naxos town while wandering along the waterfront promenade at the harbour.

We stayed at Hotel Palatia in Naxos in May 2022, and we loved our stay there. We had a lovely room with a private balcony. Manos, the owner, is very nice and very helpful. A couple of mornings we opted to have breakfast on our balcony for an additional 10 euros per person.

And for restaurants, we loved our dinners at Meltemi and To Elleniko. One morning, instead of eating at Hotel Palatia, we had breakfast at Soulatski. A delicious breakfast with a mixture of locals and tourists.

And for lunch one day we liked Yialos, one of the beachside cafes.
