We will be going to Santorini for two nights. Which village do think would be best for our first time?

Either location would be good. Oia is probably considered more scenic but Fira is more central for travel to both ends of the island.

Oia is the most beautiful and romantic village on the island. There are lots of shops, galleries, cafes and restaurants there but the nightlife is limited to a few mellow cafes and bars. Fira is the island's social/commercial center and as such is very busy all the time, especially in the summer months. If you want easy access to bars and clubs you should probably stay in Fira or Firostefani. Firostefani is just a short 15 minute walk from all that Fira has to offer.
