Can I buy tickets for the Archeological Museum and Knossos online in advance of arriving?
Yes/No. If yes, site?
We will be day-tripping from a cruise ship and do not want to take any of the excursions we have seen available.
We can walk to the museum and take a bus (every 10 minutes), or taxi, to/from Knossos.
The combined ticket is stated to cost 11EU, but have not been able to find a site to buy these in advance.
Thanks.
We bought ours at the Museum, took the bus to Knossos, took the bus back to the Museum and finished up there. I recommend that you do it that way, even if you take a taxi, so that you are close to the port if you start running out of time.
Both the Museum and Knossos have nice little cafés. I liked the the one at Knossos best.
BTW, Knossos is all outside with some smooth walking paths and some pretty rough ones. The Museum is a very modern building with everything inside.
You do not need to buy in advance -- this is not like Rome, where the Vatican etc have lines that are blocks long. I agree on doing the ancient site first, then going to Museum.
