Olympia or monemvasia in March?

Traveling in Greece with kids for 8 days in March. We plan to be in Athens, nafplio and hydra.

Do we add monemvasia or Olympia or simply spend more time around first three?

Already plan to do acropolis and Mycenae as day trips. Don’t want to spend too much time driving…

I’ve never been to Olympia so can’t comment (although one of the reasons I haven’t been is the distance.)

I’ve been to Monemvasia twice and liked it. It’s certainly spectacular and unusual. Having said that it’s quite a trek from Nafplio, factoring in the nature of some of the roads. I think you’ll find plenty to do for 8 days in just the first three places you mention. Nafplio is a good base for a visit to Epidavrus as well as Mycenae and to Tiryns which is only 10 minutes by car.

With just 8 days I would stay in Athens for 2-3 days then the rest of the time entirely in Nafplio.

Nafplio is one of Greece's prettiest towns and perfect as a base to explore nearby World Class Archeological/Historic sites and so much more.

There's plenty to do in and around Nafplio to keep you occupied.

To go to Hydra you would either have to get to one of the ports from Nafplio like Ermioni or Porto Helli to go to Hydra then ferry to Athens.

If you want to see Hydra there is a day cruise from Tolo (near Nafplio) that goes to Hydra/Spetses.

I would leave Athens at the end of your Trip.

Here's the best website for Nafplio filled with all kinds of things to see, do and experience:

You don’t have enough time to include Olympia. I wish you did as it was a favorite experience for us, seeing the original site.
