My husband and I are spending 4 nights in Anthens before our cruise begins in early September of 2024. We're looking for suggestions for hotels we can stay at during our time in Anthens near the Piraeus port. I'd love to hear from you if you've stayed in a, not necessarily luxurious, but very nice hotel and had a good experience.

First of all, what are you going to be doing during those 3 days in Athens? If you are wanting to visit popular locations in Athens, then I recommend staying in Athens. I haven't stayed there yet (reservations for October) but I booked into Acropolis View Hotel on suggestions from this forum.
Athens is about 12 kilometers from Piraeus so they are two different cities.
If you want to be near the port then you'll have to stay in Piraeus.
If you haven't been to Athens before stay there and take a private transfer to Piraeus on the day you leave.
There's more to Piraeus than just a place to get a ferry with lots of options for things to do.
Prices generally are lower in PIraeus than Athens but you'll find something that fits your budget in either city.
