We are looking for suggestions of a nice place to stop over for one night, we will arrive by air that day and will be traveling to Monemvasia on the Peloponnese. A nice suburb in Northern Athens maybe a beach town to the west? Family of 4 and we will have a car. Relaxation, a nice walk and meal, maybe a swim are all possibilities.
Appreciate suggestions.
If it were me I’d look at the east coast rather than the west, and skirt Athens entirely. The obvious choice is Rafina which has a nice central square with restaurants and Greek life and a beach which is fine for a quick dip. There are a couple of hotels, the Avra and Corali
If you want a suburb then Chalandri is not far off your route and has a lot of nice restaurants but you won’t get a dip or much of a walk.
