newer recommendations for Naxos hotels St. George vs Prokopios

Hi everyone,

I got a few hotel options looking through past posts. I am curious what people recommend more recently between staying on the beach in Agios Prokopios vs St George? I have read St George is nice because it's in town. Looks like there is a small town at Prokopios, Are there good restaurants? Which is the nicer beach? Any hotel recommendations for Prokopios?

We are a family of 3 with a teen looking to stay 5 nights at the end of June. This will be the end of our 3 week Italy/Greece trip, so mostly relaxing beach time and a pool would be night.

Thank you!

We have always chosen to stay at St George beach. The built up area with hotels and beach umbrellas is probably 400 to 500 meters. The beach continues on for another 500 meters but no service in that area. Small dunes though.
As you noted St George is part of Naxos town. Its a 10 minute stroll from the beach along the headland into Naxos town waterfront promenade. Naxos town is interesting and you can explore the maze of back alleys leading up to the Venetian era Kastro at the top of the town.
Personally the combination of beach and the town makes St George a favourite for us.

We have stayed at St. George’s beach area twice and twice in Prokopios beach .
We are returning in June to stay in Prokopios - there are many restaurants to choose from there !
And long gorgeous walks along several beaches .

Plus St Georges beach is very shallow for a long way out - great for families with small children … we prefer Prokopios , plus there is a wonderful place called the Arts club that has live music - folk music , jazz , guitar etc - we absolutely love it
