Naxos - Studios Panos vs Galini Hotel in mid-May

Hi there,
My family of 4 adults is travelling to Naxos for 5 nights in mid-May.

I’m torn between Studios Panos (luxury 2 bedroom apartment) and Galini Hotel (two connecting rooms, breakfast included).

The Galini Hotel is 1/2 the price and it is tempting to have breakfast included, but the fact that it’s so much cheaper makes me wonder if there’s a catch …like poor hot water, poor soundproofing, etc.

If anyone can provide me with some input that would be greatly appreciated! I’ve looked into Hotel Grotta but they don’t have adequate accommodations for the 4 of us at that time.

Thank you!

No, it's not a catch.
Hotel Galini is the building on the right of the little church in this picture: https://flic.kr/p/2noQVp5 The yellow building on the left of the church is Naxos Town Hall.

I stayed at Galini when I first switched from staying up in the Kastro, to staying near the beach. Galini had a lovely buffet breakfast, but most of the rooms balconies looked out over a sort of field, There were only 2 accommodations -- at the seaward end, that had sea views -- and I was told that the same families rent them year after year, so no change of getting them. Studios panos is right off the sand, haven't stayed there, but have recommended the place to people who subesquently told me they enjoyed their stay. Thre are several other options on, or just off, the sand that may be able to accommodate you -- have you looked at Hotel Palatia? Studios Kalergis, Studios Thomais, Hotel Akrogiali, Lefkes Studios etc. A bit upscale, but lovely is Villa Naxia, at far end of beach... plus a place I've been curious about... apartments just behind the Flisvos Sports Club -- all a beach level -- https://www.flisvos-sportclub.com/stay/flisvos-seaside-studios-apartments/

I always stay at Antonia Studios. Will do so again 18-28 April and 4-14 May.

Another vote for Galini Hotel.

We enjoyed our stay here for many reasons:

Close to the beach, the ferry, the restaurants and shops in town.

Very nice rooms and patio.

Kind and friendly hosts. One morning when my daughter slept late, the owner made sure to let me know that she was keeping the breakfast out for when she woke up.
