We are going to Greece in April. We are thinking of staying on Naxos and visiting Mykonos for a day in the middle of our trip. I can't find good roundtrip information so I was thinking of staying on Mykonos for a night. My question is, is it better to stay on Naxos for two nights and do a one day/one night on Mykonos or the other way, two nights on Mykonos and one day/night on Naxos. Which island has more to offer? Looking for advice.
I would recommend that you stay on Naxos for all three nights. You will find plenty of things to see and do. When planning a trip, I count nights, not days. With three nights on Naxos, you will only have 2 full days there due to transportation to and from the island. If you are determined to visit Myknonos, take a look at the Ferryhopper or Ferries.gr websites. You will find the schedules there for both one-way and round trip journeys.
Every time I look at the round trip tickets, it looks like it only allows us an hour of time. The Naxos to Mykonos says it lands at 12:40, but the Mykonos to Naxos leaves at 12:15. Am looking at it wrong? My goal is to just do a day hop to Mykonos and stay the entire time on Naxos, but I'm having difficulty navigating the ferry websites.
Try the Seajets website. I chose a random date in April. These ferries give you about 6-6.5 hours on Mykonos. https://tickets.seajets.com/trips.php?2/1/0/0/0/N/JNX/JMK/2026-04-16/JMK/JNX/2026-04-16
I just did a dummy booking for April 16. Seajets Superrunner departs Naxos at 9 am and goes to Mykonos then returns from Mykonos at 5:10.
I looked at two one way tickets.
There is also an excursion boat that does Delos and Mykonos. You might want to see if they are running on one of the days you are on Naxos.
Honestly Naxos needs a week to see the highlights. Using up a day to ferry hop when you have so little time does not strike me as being efficient.
