We are planning a trip to Greece for a short time while on a trip to Italy from California. The total trip is 22 days. We want to get a little flavor of Greece and return in future if we discover we want to make a trip to just Greece. I have looked into what Naxos features based on advice from this forum. Now I would like advice on best place to stay and if we need a car. We want to spend time at the beach as well as spending a day (if it can be done in a day--or two) visiting the Greek Mythological sites. There are several. It looks like Naxos has the most to see which will satisfy the Greek Mythology geeks in my family :)
We are looking for affordable, nice but not too expensive accommodations in the best spot for our needs. Thanks for advice!

You will want to return.
My advice would be to enjoy your fabulous trip to Italy, and then in the future enjoy a fabulous trip to Greece. Because getting to Naxos from anywhere in Italy is going to be a pain and then what? Fly home from Naxos? Or have to return to Italy first?

We are going to save the plan for next year and the detailed information you shared I’ve saved and my family and I will use it next trip. Thanks to everyone for the advice. I never went into a forum before and it’s such a great way to find details from people who’ve been there, done that!
