One of my stops in Greece is Naxos for 3 days. We are 6 adults (we will each have our own rooms, so not interested in sharing apartment or house). Since we are first timers there, we would like to be active with walking distance to town, beach, restaurants and not secluded. We are thinking about one of the following hotels. Can anyone give comments/thoughts on these:
Hotel Grotta, Naxos Resort Beach Hotel, Nissaki Beach, IPPOKAMPOS NAXOS, Emery Hotel, Porto Naxos, Naxian Secret
We stayed at Hotel Grotta right before Covid. Very nice modern rooms overlooking the ocean and Temple of Apollo. The closest beach is down a short path but the beach is pebbles not sand. Maybe 10 minute walk to town. Wonderful breakfast. The owners were very helpful with sightseeing directions and restaurant suggestions.
It really depends on whether you plan to rent a car or not. We stayed in an Airbnb just about a 15-minute drive from the ferry port. Our host picked us up, and then we were able to rent a car in the nearby town, which was within walking distance of the Airbnb. We loved Naxos and stayed a week in September of 2019. The Airbnb was located in Agios Prokopios, which has a great sandy beach area and a nice town, with lots of restaurants, shopping, and bars.
I think you might have posted this on TA as well, I responded there about the hotel we just stayed in last month, Iliada Suites.
Right next door to Hotel Grotta, so an easy stroll to town, we walked in every day and back again each evening for dinner.
We weren't interested in the beach though, just seeing and hearing the ocean.

Our stay at Hotel Grotta was excellent! Fabulous staff and Mam's breakfast can't be beat. We enjoyed a glass of wine on the rooftop at sunset. Modern and immaculately clean rooms. Easy walk to town. Highly recommend!
We were in Naxos this past May and we stayed in the Naxian Secret. It is family run and looked new.. The family really strives hard to make ones stay pleasant. When we arrived, the wife spent time with us orienting us to the island and recommending really good places to eat. They served a really good breakfast and you could eat it at the pool or outside on the balcony of your room. It was located a 5-10 minute walk outside of town and is also a 10-15 minute walk from Agios Georgios Beach.
It is also located less than a 5 min drive from the airport. If you arrive by ferry, they will arrange for a taxi to come pick you up and this taxi is cheaper than the ones you can get at the port. I highly recommend them.
