Anyone have recommendations for a good dinner on Naxos? We are staying near the port but willing to walk if necessary.
I will be in Naxos in September, so I am interested in these responses also.
I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for, but you could head over to Kozi for dinner. They have an outdoor patio area on the beach that looks out to the Portara. I had dinner there, a traditional Greek dish that I forget the name of at the moment, and had a lovely view of the sun setting over the Portara.
Edit: Apostolis is also a pretty popular place, you see it in photos a lot, their Instagram-esq yellow bicycle against the blue shutters. I went here as part of a food tour and enjoyed it.
We enjoyed our dinners at To Elleniko and Meltemi. Both restaurants have outdoor dining. We stayed on the edge of St. George’s beach and we walked to both restaurants. An easy walk. The owner of Meltemi introduced himself to us and offered my husband extra sauce for his meat dish.
Boulamatsis was our favorite last September. It’s near the port, up some stairs from the Main Street, with tables overlooking the water. It’s a family place where momma does the cooking. I had the most amazing chicken with potatoes — may have been called chicken in the oven with potatoes. Highly recommend. Another night we shared a platter of appetizers— little tastes of various dishes she had cooked that day. Fabulous.
This one does not tick the box "Accessible on foot from the port" ( it's in Kastraki, 20 minutes from Naxos Town by car) but for lovers of good typical Naxos cuisine tick that of "not to be missed". Everything is homemade with local products

Another vote for To Elleniko from me. We loved the outdoor space, friendly service and especially the food.
