Hello,
My husband and I will be visiting Naxos and Paros in early September. We will be flying from London to Athens and then take a flight with a small airline to Naxos. We plan to stay there a week, ferry over to Paros, stay a week, then fly back to London via a local and then a larger airline. We would like suggestions as to where to stay on both islands. We hope to be near a nice beach and local shops in an area where we can walk to most things we need. Also we hope to be located where there is not noise from the airports. If we could get a place with a pool that would be wonderful although I am not sure if that is common there. Thanks for your help.
On Naxos we stayed at the Naxian Secret. It's family run and all accommodations are suites.
They have a pool and do a cook to order breakfast which they will serve you poolside or on your balcony.
They are located 10 minutes walking distance from a really nice beach and 15 minutes walking distance from the town. There is a supermarket close by. The hotel is close to an airport but I don't recall hearing noise from the planes.
I cannot recommend them highly enough.
darkmist1 Thanks for the tip. We will definitely keep it in mind when we get to our hotel bookings shortly.
You've picked 2 beautiful islands. There are many places on both islands that would fit your brief. Are youl looking for busy or quieter locations? Early September will still be busy on both islands but there are quieter locations on each if that is what you prefer.
Have a look at the links below to get a better idea of where you might like to stay on each island

Regarding your flights:
"We will be flying from London to Athens and then take a flight with a small airline to Naxos."
"...fly back to London via a local and then a larger airline."
If you book with Aegean Airlines you have those flights on 1 ticket. Aegean Airlines from/to London and Olympic Air to Naxos and from Paros. Olympic Air is the daughter company of Aegean Airlines and does the domestic flights to the smaller islands/airports.
Airport Noise:
Both Naxos and Paros airport only have a limited number of daily flights (5-8) they are all domectic flights done with smaller turboprop planes, no Airbus or Boeing jets so the noise level is minimal.
Naxos hotels with pools and on or near the beach:
Nissaki Beach on the beach and only 5 min walk to Naxos Town
Naxos Resort 50m from the beach and only 10 min walk to Naxos Town
Spiros Hotel Is next to Naxos Resort
All 3 are at St. George beach
In Agios Prokopios there are Naxos Island hotel and Liana Beach Hotel that are on the beach and have a pool. Both have a 5 busstop within 50m for easy access to Naxos Town.
In Naxos we’ve stayed in town a few times in Hotel Kymata - however we’ve always booked far in advance fo obtain one of their two roof top suites - 360 degree views! Older small hotel but very nice .
However last 3 visits we have stayed out in Agia Prokopios ! Love it so much - gorgeous beaches that run along into to each other ( Agia propokios, becomes Agia Anna , and eventually after a lovely walk - Plaka beach !
Lined with many good tavernas and restaurants!
We have stayed at Hotel Manios - but once again only if we are able to book one of their two large beach view rooms . Includes an amazing à la carte breakfast ( not a buffet ) - and free sunbeds
This last trip we stayed in Naxos for 6 nights - then went to a few other places and came back to Naxos and spent another 4 nights there , Manios suites was full but we were able to get a room at Hotel Katerina - it’s a block off the beach but has a really nice little pool , and as I said still very close to beach - we’d often hang out by the pool but just take a towel down to swim and beach and come back to our pool chairs . Had a buffet breakfast which was average to be fair but it was lovely eating out by the pool .
