Naxos after Rick Steve tour next fall

We are reuniting with a couple ladies we met on our first RS tour. Doing the 14 day Greece tour and afterwards we want to just relax. Always exhausted after his trips. I don’t need to hear anymore history lol! Any boat tours from Naxos that cruise around Milos or Paros or any other island nearby? Also we don’t want to rent a car but would like a day tour of island. We are staying near town since the beaches will be shutting down in October. Any recommendations for restaurants, shops etc.
. Thanks, Carol

You need to return to Athens to then go to another island. Perhaps there are island tours but I haven’t heard of any.

Zas Tours in Naxos is one of the main agencies that organizes day trips.

Normally, boat day trips to the islands around Naxos end at the end of September.
You have to check with them once in Naxos because it also depends on the weather anyway.

The KTEL bus system has tours around the island. They may have stopped offering them in October but you should stop at the bus office at the port to see if and are they are still running those tours.
If not you can just take the regular bus route. Our favourite is the run up into the mountain villages. We particularly like the hiking trails around Chalki and a visit to Aparanthos is wonderful. The walkway in the village are made of marble.

The last time we were on Naxos in October most of the tourists had abandoned the beach areas but Naxos town and St George beach continued to be busy.

Thank you.
The KTEL bus station is at the port so you can pick up a schedule and buy your ticket there. The bus system is set up for locals so the routes will not be dropped as the tourist season is ending.

Group tours offered by KTEL Naxos are possible from the beginning of May until mid-October. (October 11 in 2024)

Outside of these dates you will have to use regular buses.

The Naxos bus website is here:

Be careful when returning to town by bus. In October, apart from lines 1 and 10 where buses generally run until around 8 p.m., the last bus on other lines is around 4:30 p.m./5 p.m.

We took a private tour of the island with Nicolas of Naxos Discovery Tours and it was fabulous! Prices vary according to your interests. He is very responsive to email inquiries. I highly recommend his services. https://www.naxosdiscovery.net/
