I do not know.

In Greece air traffic controllers are rarely on strike.

An air traffic controllers union official said yesterday:
"I can't say there won't be a strike, but empirically I'll tell you the government through the courts won't allow it, the final decision set to release at noon Tuesday, April 5"

IN the past, it has not affected international flights, in my experience. However, you do have to think ahead about getting to the airport. Buses & Metro will be on strike. Taxis not, but will be scarce. Best to book a car service ahed of time, online, such as Welcome Pickups, or City cab, 2 reliaable ones. They charge the same as taxicabs by day -- flat fare from central athens, about €39 or €40, check that this has not changed.

If I were flying back to the U.S. on April 6, would consider staying near the airport the night before my flight since public transportation could be impacted and cabs might be busier than usual. We have stayed at the Sofitel at the Athens Airport and it's very convenient.

I called the hotel we were planning on staying at (Herodian Hotel) to ask about the strike on the 6th.

I was told that there will be a general announcement made on Monday (April 4th) that should explain exactly which industries/sectors/services will be impacted by the strike. If the strike includes air traffic controllers, ALL flights in and out will be impacted.

He also added though that access to public sites, such as the Acropolis, Acropolis Museum, etc, might also be impacted. So even if one is not flying in/out on the 6th, you may still be impacted.

Several years ago we got caught up in an air traffic controllers strike and it created some logistical problems and stress. We were on Santorini and had to waste a day taking the ferry back. It also added 2 nights to our trip. The bright side was we got to spend an unplanned afternoon/night in Porto Rafti, Greece and another in Pompei/Pompeii, Italy before finally flying home.

If Tourism workers will be on strike, would that include the employees working sites such as the Acropolis and Acropolis Musem?

I don't know, nothing specific is announced about museums and archaeological sites

I don't think that all national museum and site staff decide to go on strike. you will see tomorrow if you are there
