Mykonos on May 3rd and 4th

I'm going to be on the island of Mykonos beginning in the late morning on May 3rd and departing by ferry for Naxos by ferry at about 5 pm on May 4th. I just checked the cruise ship arrivals and departures for the port of Mykonos on these two days, and I'm noticing that there are 3 sizable cruise ships due to arrive on the morning of May 3rd, all leaving again that evening. On the 4th there is only one small cruise arriving. My question is this. I want to take the ferry to the island of Delos and I also want to use a rental car to tour parts of the island. When would be the best times to do these two activities, given the presence of thousands of cruise ship passengers on May 3rd? Originally I had planned to pick up my rental car for one day at approximately 5:00 pm downtown on the 3rd after having taken an early afternoon ferry to Delos (assuming there will be an afternoon ferry). Having the rental car from then until the time of my ferry departure on the 4th would allow me to check out of my hotel on the morning of the 4th with my luggage and allow me to keep my luggage secure in my rental car during the day. I can then return the car at the port just prior to departing on the ferry to Naxos. Any thoughts?

Before you make plans with your luggage and with or without a car, know that there is no ferry to Delos, only authorized boats can take you there. They depart from the old Mykonos port (Marina port) , not the Tourlos ferry port.

You can take the half-day tour in the afternoon of May 3. Departure 5 p.m. return 8 p.m.
The guided tour (in English) costs €60, unguided €22 + entry ticket to Delos

If you take that tour, you should not encounter any of the cruise people, as most ships depart between 5 and 6 p.m.
