I will be in Mykonos the first week in October and have a afternoon free. I am looking for a beach with hopefully warm, calm waters with Loungers/ Umbrella and not a party scene. Does anyone have any recommendations. I will be staying at Myconian Hotel and was wondering about how transportation would work.
we stayed an entire week in Mykonos Blank hotel steps away from Ornos Beach.. You can rent the beach umbrellas and beds and a towel for 35 euros from Pissaji or right next to it for 30 euros from the other restaurants. It's all the same. Ornos beach is great, it's family oriented, there are tons of restaurants and a 10 minute bus ride to Mykonos Town. We loved Ornos Beach it has very calm waters and clean.
I tried looking up where your hotel is at, but there are at least 10 hotels that use the "Myconian" name, if you narrow it down, I might be able to help more. In general though, for transport, ignoring renting a scooter/ATV/car. there is Bus and Taxi. Buses leave from the station on the edge of Mykonos town to the beaches, Taxis from anywhere.
All of the prime beaches are along the South shore of the island, the previous poster mentioned Ornos, good beach, family friendly. Psarrou and Gialos would be the other two good options, all three are fairly close to each other.
You mentioned avoiding the "Party" typically that would rule out Paradise and Super Paradise beaches, but by first week of October, the party is pretty much over.
Water should still be plenty warm, weather may be more "iffy".
I am staying at Myconian K Hotel and who knows what the weather will be but at this moment they are saying 74. I can't seem to find a website that gives the humidity level. Ornos Beach does look nice.
