Milos-Sifnos-Athens in early September

I am going to Greece August 29-September 10. I am flying out of EWR on 8/29, getting into Athens around 4:30PM on 8/30. I will stay 1 night in Athens (right next to the port) on 8/30.

8/31 – early ferry from Athens-Milos on Zante ferries
9/4—noon ferry from Milos—Sifnos on Speedrunner3
9/8—early evening ferry from Sifns—Athens on Speedrunner3

Does anyone have experiences with Zante or Speedrunner3? The Speedrunner seems better/calmer/more reliable than SuperJet from what I have read.

For Milos, I will stay 4 nights, and I am holding reservations in a few different areas:

Klima -- at Panorama Hotel.
Pollonia - at Nikis Savvas
Adamas - at Olea Bay hotel

Klima is my top choice. It looks stunning and idyllic and I know my boyfriend and I would be able to walk to nearby Trypiti and Plaka each day without a problem, but I worry how we'd get to the beach or to/from the ferry port without a car. We do not drive. Are the roads safe to walk at night? Do you find the taxis to be reliable if you call them up and schedule? Please let me know if you think Pollonia is preferred w/o a car... My concern is that it will feel touristy and not as authentic, even though I've read very good things. Adamas I have not heard the best about. More touristy/by the port etc.

I am staying 4 nights in Sifnos at the Gerofinikas Hotels between Appolonia and Kastro, which seems to be a good location. But I am also holding a reservation at the Lighthouse Hotel in Faros, so would be happy to take recommendations for what the better area seems to be from those who have been!

Then will have 2 nights in Athens before departing. We are staying in Kolonaki at the Oniro City hotel (the hotels in Plaka were double the price!).

How is the weather in the first week of September?

Any other thoughts/advice help is much appreciated!

Thank you!

Kolonaki is Athens’ upscale residential area so good for you to be staying in that nice neighborhood. We disliked staying in the touristy Plaka area.
In Kolonaki, there is a wonderful original urban Athenian taverna, Kafeneio, on Loukianou 26. Wonderful setting and food, authentic.
