Milos or Paros?

I'm looking for input/experiences to help decide between Milos and Paros, and it seems like we can't go wrong with either choice! My husband and I have 10 days in Greece which includes travel. The tentative plan is to fly into Santorini and stay for several days, then head to Paros or Milos and finish off the trip in Athens and fly out of there. We live in Charleston, SC and we adore the beach - that being said, we're looking for less of a 'beach lounge/cabana' setup and more of exploring beautiful areas/water.

I would say Paros as it would offer more contrast with Santorini. Both Milos and Santorini are volcanic islands.

I would suggest Paros over Milos. Why?

From a beach perspective:

Milos does have some beaches, but far fewer than Paros. Furthermore, some of them are rocky, not sandy (Milos is a volcanic island).

Half of Milos (in the South) is a Natura 2000 protected area, accessible only with a 4WD vehicle.
The inhabited area has roughly two beaches near villages: one near Adamantas, the capital and port, and the other in Pollonia, in the north of the island. Unlike Paros, Milos has very few villages.

Paros has a significant number of beaches, mainly on the east/southeast coast, including the largest, Golden Beach.
All along this coast, many beaches are close to or directly in front of villages, such as Molos, Piso Livadi, Drios, and Aliki. Others are more secluded, accessible on foot or by car.

On the west side, Parikia, the capital and port, has a fairly long but narrow beach. There are also some nice beaches a little further along, such as Marcelo and Krios beaches.
There are many more traditional villages in Paros.
Naoussa in the north of Paros is very well-known but extremely crowded and expensive, with luxury boutiques like in Mykonos, and like Santorini, very popular for honeymoon packages. Moreover, its beach is small and rather unattractive.

From Paros, you can also take a day trip to Antiparos. There is a boat service from the port of Punda (and from Parikia in the summer).

I know both islands, and as you might have guessed, I'm not a big fan of Milos, which is why I only made a map about Paros/Antiparos. :)
