My husband and I are planning a trip to Greece in early May. We are definitely planning to visit Athens and Santorini, and debating between Milos and Crete for a 3rd stop. Love the idea of Milos but we live in Florida and know the weather/water will be too cool for us to want to get in. Is it worth visiting Milos if we won't get in the water?
The first week of May 2024 will be Easter week in Greece, which means a lot of people on the ferries and almost everywhere on the islands.
Also note that Labor Day on May 1st has been postponed to May 7 this year (because it falls on Holy Wednesday). Therefore it is very likely that there will be no ferry that day as it's usually the case on May 1st.
Milos is a volcanic island like Santorini, with beaches with lunar landscapes. Its southern half is a Natura 2000 area, therefore practically uninhabited and almost impossible to visit without a 4x4 vehicle.
I can't tell you if you'll like it. It's up to you to decide

Crete is too big to be visited even partially in less than a week.
