Kalambaka or Kastraki? Which is the better location to stay in Meteora? We will be visiting with our 10-year-old son. Any specific hotel names are much appreciated as well.

Kastraki is a delightful village while Kalambaka is a large town / small city.
I prefer the former. I've stayed at three places there, Guesthouse Lithos, Ziogas Rooms, and Spanias Hotel. All were terrific.

Thanks. We were just in Kastraki and your description of the two towns is spot on. We did end up staying at the Kastraki Hotel and were very happy.
