Thanks to everyone who responded and had patience with my quite ridiculous rain question. It had been a long day. Questions about meteora: planning to take train to kalambaka and bus back. Bus appears to transfer Midway but cannot find info as to whether there is connecting time or any challenges to transfer. We plan to use airbnb- better to stay in kalambaka or kastraki? If we stay in kastraki how far is it from train station and is taxi or walking only options? The only info I have found is that bit is about a 15 minute walk. Other? Anyone used hiking tour with visit meteora?

Where the online bus schedules say, "for all itineraries there is almost direct connection in Trikalas bus station," that tells me it should be a quick and easy transfer. Also PDF schedule to help with the sightseeing plan.

We visited Meteora in September. We booked 2 tours with visitmeteora.travel: the sunset tour, and the morning hiking tour. The hiking tour was 4-5 hours, and roughly 10 kms, with inclines and declines. We are not fitness fanatics, and were able to do it comfortably. It was totally worthwhile.
We used their recommendation for lodgings in Kastraki, and were very, VERY happy with Pyrgos Adrachti.
We drove ourselves, so don’t have any details about bus or train stations, but wed be happy to answer any specific questions you might have about the area or the tours.
