Due to May 1 falling on Good Friday this year, the Greek government has made the Tuesday after Easter Monday the May Day in 2024.
We arrive that day. What will be closed?
Will restaurants be open?
Are you sure? May 1, 2024 is a Wednesday, not a Friday.
This year, the Orthodox Good Friday is Friday May 3, 2024 and Easter is Sunday May 5, 2024.
I wouldn't worry about the possibilities of finding places to eat, but what usually happens in Greece on May 1st will probably be postponed until May 7th, that's to say:
Ships will remain stranded in ports due to a shipping union strike.
In Athens the Metro and Tram lines will not operate.
A union parade will take place in the city center from 11 a.m. causing traffic restrictions.
Archaeological sites and museums are usually closed on May 1st.
All this subject to confirmation. Apart from the postponement of the 1st to the 7th there is to date no official announcement regarding closures or strikes
I got this information from another site, but I wasn't able to read the Greek announcement. I may have mis-wrote the reason for the change in dates. I believe the Greek government didn't want union May Day activities interrupting Easter Week.
