Mani Peninsula--Worth Driving?

We are traveling in Greece at the end of June--2 seniors, 2 40-ish adults, and a 9-year-old.

We are wondering whether folks would recommend driving the Mani Peninsula. We are a little concerned about (1) things to see that might interest a 9-year-old and (2) windy and rough roads (we have two people who tend toward getting carsick). If you would in fact recommend driving the Mani peninsula, what were your favorite sights and how long should we allow?

Thanks!

We drove part of the Mani Peninsula in March. The roads were in very good condition Windy roads, because it is mountainous. Very scenic.

Where else will you be staying / going? There are some caves to tour, which the child might like, but not sure that would be worth the misery of carsickness when there may be plenty to do closer to where you will be otherwise.
I think the main non-nature draw is churches, villages, that kind of thing, so probably not tops for a nine year old.

Probably not a lot for a 9 year old other than some wonderful beaches.

Roads are in good condition but driving is slow due to the terrain.

Beautiful scenery, lovely villages, excellent food, welcoming locals.

Probably minimum of 2 days there is a lot to see most every where so can't go wrong if you want to give it a try.

Thanks to everyone who responded. We have decided that, for the 2 concerns I cited, we will skip the Mani peninsula (on this trip!).
