If you're really looking for an authentic, quiet, out of the way spot, I highly recommend the southern tip of the Mani Peninsula on the end of the Peloponnese Peninsula. We spent 4 nights in Porto Kagio, which is really just a collection of simple tavernas and inns on a beach in a secluded cove. We stayed at Hotel Akrotiri. Our room was right over the beach and they serve an amazing breakfast! Driving is not for the faint of heart here. Roads are very narrow and twisty but not very busy (luckily). Each day we took a drive to explore the vicinity. There's a nice walk out to the lighthouse at Cape Tenario, just a few minutes' drive. There's no shopping or cash machine in Porto Kagio, so stock up in Acropoli on your way down the coast. (It's about a 45 min drive.) The scenery is amazing. The swimming is good. The fish is fresh! There are several places for walks. It's an amazing place to chill out and just enjoy!
