Looking for tips on my itinerary to Athens

I like to save money and get to sight seeing attractions when no one is there!
July 26-aug 10 ill be in greece. First two nights in athens then i go on a 4 day trek of mount olympus, returning july 31. Another night in athens, then im heading to ios aug 1-4.

I need help with my plans aug 4-10! My sisters are coming to join me for this part and i was thinking
Aug 4: explore athens travel recovery day
Aug 5: acropolis, explore athens
Aug 6: guided train tour to meteora (do you recommend guided tour or renting a car? I want affordability and convinience)
Aug 7: a boat cruise
Aug 8: athens in morning, visit temple of Poseidon and cape sounion in afternoon (tour or no tour?)
Aug 9: take ktel bus to delphi at 730, return at either 4 or 6pm
Aug 10: morning in athens, flight in afternoon

Im unsure about august 8 and 9 if i should do delphi the 8th or 9th… if a tour is better than taking the bus myself? I dont want to waste a lot of time if the bus takes longer than a car tour but i also value my money and being on a budget! Any advice??? Any sights i should remove or add?Thanks in advance!

Your itinerary is chopped up, put all of Athens time together.Stay in Athens for a few nights for your sisters to have a chance to see the Acropolis and more. Aug. 6 stay in Athens to do what you list on Aug.8. Rent a car at Athens airport and drive to Peloponneasean Peninsula..stay in Naplion, explore the Mycenae, Epidavros then next day Aug.8 go to Meteora and Delphi.Hire guides at the sites. Aug.9 return to Athens after dropping off car at Athens airport9 easiest.), visit Cape Sounion and temple of Poseidon if you wish.
Aug.10 see whatever you've missed, depart Athens.
There is not much train service in Greece in fact I have never seen a train there. . You will be near the water most of the time; where do you want a boat to take you on a cruise?

Athens would be our home base for the whole week! We would do tours out of athens

If you plan to rent a car then I would suggest renting it from the airport so you don't have to drive in Athens traffic. Visit Delphi then drive to Mystras overnight there, visit the monasteries and drive back to Athens. It will be a hectic two days with long drives. You can be at Delphi before the tour buses arrive around 10 in the morning and same thing with Meteora get up early and see as much as you can before the tours arrive.
Frankly 3 days would be a better plan.
