Our family of 4 is going on a cruise in October which includes stops in Santorini, Mykonos, and Corfu.
I’ve learned from past cruises that we can see so much more for less and at our own pace by arranging for a private tour. I’ve always gotten lucky just getting a driver at the pier. But I haven’t been to Greece before and don’t know if that is safe or if it’s better to arrange a tour ahead of time.
Can anyone recommend a good tour operator who will let us just tell the driver what we like, how long we have and how much we can spend?
Have you looked on Cruise Critic or posted your question there? You probably will get more help there.
We had a terrific experience with Kostas. You will need to contact him ahead of time and book his services. We chose his "A La Carte" Tour which he tailored to the things we wanted to see and do. Highly recommend!

Thank you for your help.
Santorini: Be advised that unless you sign up for a ship's tour you will be tendered ashore where you'll make your way up the cliff into the main village of Fira, either by cable car or by walking the 600+ donkey poo and urine covered steps. PLEASE don't be tempted to ride the poor abused donkeys. Once you've reached the top of the cliff you can meet your driver to show you the island. I recommend Gabi Birbeck, who is reachable by message on Facebook through the "Santorini Secrets" group. Or you can book with Kostas Sakavaras, who has been showing people the island for years. https://santorini-private-guide.com
