My husband and I are planning a bucket list once in a lifetime 3 week trip to Greece in October. We will be spending time in Crete (tentatively Rethmynmo), Santorini, maybe Naxos, Athens, Meteora and Napthleon and Rhodes (if we can find a way get there and back.)
Our preference would be to stay in lodging that is old and historic. In Verona Italy I stayed in a pension that had been a courthouse in the 12th century. In Granada Spain we stayed in a 14th century moorish house that had been converted into a small hotel. I've found some charming "cave" houses in Santorini. I would love to stay in a former monastery, winery, or any kind of centuries old lodging, but aside from former palaces that are now luxury hotels I'm coming up with nothing. Does anyone have any recommendations.
