Local Travel Agencies in Santorini, Naxos and Mykonos

Hi All -

My family and I (5 of us) are traveling to Greece next month. As we've been planning, we've realized we are having limited options on booking ferries, tours, etc. because we are going during the winter. It's been hard to get up-to-date information from the internet and have read that working with local travel agencies can get us more accurate information. Does anyone have good recommendations for local travel agencies in Santorini, Naxos and Mykonos? We are looking for ferry schedules from Santorini to Naxos and Naxos to Mykonos. I'd also like to book a day trip to Delos and am wondering if I can do this in Naxos vs. Mykonos.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Laura

When you travel with 5 people, things easily get complicated.

We found going from Greek island to Greek island to be simpler and easier on a cruise ship. And also the ship was very inexpensive by any standards.
We got to see Malta, Crete and Turkey along the islands above you mention--along with Athens.
Good luck finding a travel agent.

Local travel agencies are good for last-minute updated information when there has been an unforeseen schedule change, but other than that they are no more informed than the www.gtp.gr website. Naxos to Mykonos will be a challenge. I'm seeing nothing yet for November but keep checking. The winter schedules will be available very soon. If the excursion companies that offer daytrips from Naxos to Delos are operating in November you will be able to book that once you're on Naxos. This gives you the added option to not go if the seas are too rough while not having to deal with a refund situation.

I went on a trip to Naxos, Mykonos, Santorini, and Crete in 2015 traveling among them via ferry. The travel agents that I used both provided me with incorrect information on ferry schedules and in the case of the departure from Mykonos the wrong ferry terminal so I tend to think following the link provided by Lee is a good plan. I used travel agents even though I usually do not because a friend told me that traveling around Greece and getting ferry schedules would be easier with a travel agent.

In my experience there are all kinds of offices near the docks, or in the case of Santorini, in Fira that can fit your needs. Nearly all sell for all ferries that hit the island, no difference to speak of in cost, service is not really an issue since you are just walking up and buying a ticket. I do recommend that you purchase the day before, or even a couple days. For November, I would bet on larger, slower boats as being more dependable.

"Nearly all sell for all ferries that hit the island.................."

Not true. In Fira Pelican Travel sells Hellenic Seaways tickets, Dakoutros Travel sells Blue Star tickets, and Nomikos Travel sells Sea Jets tickets.
