Hello! We will be in Myrina/Lemnos, Greece in October for about 6 hours. The offered excursions (from the cruise ship) include winery stops and we're not interested in going to a winery that day. What sites, restaurants, local history would you recommend? Thank you!
We spent a week on Lemnos last year, and I don't think it's going to be easy to find an excursion that fits into your six hours of free time. Most of the wineries are close to Myrina, which I guess is why this excursion is offered.
Otherwise, there are quite a few interesting things to see on Lemnos. It's a large island that requires your own vehicle to explore, and much more than six hours (we have a 270-pages travel guide just for Lemnos).
Among many others:
The Archaeological Site of Ancient Hephaestia, it's almost an hour's drive from Myrina.

The (famous) chapel of Panagia Kakaviotissa, carved into the rock facing the sea, is closer to Myrina, but after a 20-minute drive, you have to walk for another 20 minutes along a steep, rocky path.

Another rather spectacular place is the Faraklou Geological Park.

We stayed in the sponge fishing village of Nea Koutali, towards the middle of the island, which has a little museum, telling the interesting history of the village and its fishermen.

Perhaps you could contact a travel agent in Myrina and see what they can offer you.
In any case, Myrina is a charming place with an old port and small pedestrian streets under arbors where you can spend a couple of hours and have lunch.
