We have the opportunity to fly from Florence to Athens for about half the price if we arrive at Athens airport at 1:00 a.m. I'm worried about getting a taxi to my hotel that late at night. Does anyone know the answer? Thanks, Shane
Try these guys. They should be able to do it.

Taxis are always available at the airport. The after midnight rate into the city is fixed at €50. If your hotel is within easy walking distance to Syntagma Square you can take the Airport Express X95 Bus for €5.
Agree the bus is the cheapest means of transportation. If you are a group of people then the cost of a taxi could be shared and the cost per person reduced. It's also the most convenient and quickest. However for one person the cost is now around 54 euros . . . very high for budget travelers.
It all depends on where your accommodations is located for the bus, your comfort level, stress and budget.
It's a small difference but I'm in Athens at the moment and the bus from the airport has just gone up again. It's 6 euros. A single on the train is now ten.
Alan.
Good to know. Thanks.
Hey there! So the taxi price depends on the traffic, the number of passengers and your luggages. I can suggest a good company with normal rates and excellent service http://www.liontransfer.com/
I hope it helps! Enjoy:)
I believe the cost is based more on what time of day/night you want a taxi. Late night/early morning is 54 euros from/to airport. The rest of the time it's 38 euros.
