Late for Athens accommodations - suggestions?

Ending our Greece trip in Athens, arriving Sunday afternoon June 18 and departing Thursday June 22. Dropped the ball in making reservations (checked a number of recently recommended hotels posted here - most nothing available) and hoping to keep the 4 night stay under $1000. Appreciate any suggested areas that are reasonably centrally located to do the usual tourist visits. Thank you in advance.

John D is absolutely right! you are shucks outa luck on the most convenient HOTELS -- there may be a chance on booking.com to get a pvt apt. available for 4 days.

Here's what I do, to browse availability and see locations -- I use a booking.com filter called "landmarks" and specify Acropolis -- so each lodging shows how far from Acropolis. Here's the "tiny URL" - https://tinyurl.com/heq6edp when you put in your dates &2 people @ 1 rm, a list pops up. DO NOT click hotels on list. Instead click upper RH icon "show on map" and the map comes up with all hotels & apts as balloons. Then you x the "our picks" list to go away, which makes map wider. Balloons in all areas very close to Acropolis mainly have RED centers, meaning fully booked. Those with vacancies are waaay beyond your budget. However I did spot ONE gem for you to check -- It's WEST Of Monastiraki (so not noisy) .... its just about 2-3 blocks ti RIGHT of THissio Metro station, on Adrianou, a major shopping lane but NOT vehicle traffic. It's called DL-Hospitality@Adrianou 7... is ranked "excellent" from 85 reviews -- a 1 BR apt w queen size bed, plus balcony v view or $901 for 4 nights AND free cancellation. IMHO, it's a great buy. Everything els closer to Syntagma Square is at least $1300 and most are up above $2000.

Thank you all for your interest - ESPECIALLY Janet. Booked in at your suggested place. Looks charming, within our budget, AND free pick up from airport.

I'm with JoLui. I found lots of options near the Acropolis at under $1000 for those 4 nights, and with booking.com ratings of at least 8.0.

Another option is to use Airbnb.

There are many non-hotels accommodations listed that may offer more for less money.

Check out the south side of the Acropolis like Koukaki or Pangrati
