Hi everyone. My wife and I, and our two kids (ages 11 and 14) will spend a week in Istanbul and Cappadocia end of June 2024. We were then thinking of heading to one of the Greek islands for another week (first week of July). Budget is not an issue and we are open to renting a car as well. Our interests are food, beaches, hiking, exploring small towns/villages, wineries, taverns, history, snorkeling, etc. After some reading, we think either Crete or Kefalonia would be ideal, but are having a hard time picking between them. Open to another island as well as long as it isn't a party/club destination (not our scene). Any guidance from the group here? Thanks in advance.
Crete is a large island so it offers many different kinds of destinations. We spent two weeks on Western Crete and also visited for the south shore for a few nights. You can’t go wrong with Crete.
Thank you!
We spent 11 nights on Crete and loved it. Would like to go back. Have not been to Kefalonia so can't compare but can't go wrong with Crete.
