Kalambaka/Kastraki to Delphi

I have been looking all over the place for the best way to get from Kalambaka to Delphi - Train, Bus, taxi? I want to be reasonable with time and money. Buses seem like they could take all day and taxi or private transfer could get pretty pricey (solo traveler). Does anyone have a good solution? I would not be ready to leave Kalambaka till mid afternoon (14:30 or after). I have read about renting a car, but I do not know how comfortable I feel driving in a foreign country, nor do I have an international license.

Thank you!

Buses are the cheapest option and won't take a horribly long time- www.rome2rio.com/s/Kalambaka/Delphi
and private transfer can be pricey but is very comfortable and you can stop as needed. www.getyourguide.com/kalabaka-I117/meteora-to-delphi-shared-transfer-t35697/ but one price covers your entire family. I would not recommend a car. If you do drive, get an international driving permit at your local AAA. Here is where to get info and the forms you'll need and list of what you need to take. www.aaa.com/vacation/idpf.html It costs $15. You can also apply by mail. The link tells you how.

We just did Greece in March and drove all over. With the exception of Athens (where I highly recommend you do not drive) we had no problems. We drove from Athens to Delphi to Kalambaka to Olympia to Kardamylee to Monemvasia to Nafplion and back to Athens. The nice thing about the car was you can set your own schedule. If we wanted to stay a little longer somewhere it was not a problem.
For example, because we had a car Themopolye was an easy stop on the way to Kalambaka.

Most roads were highway however the roads from Delphi to Kalambaka and then for the first 40 miles out of Kalambaka to Olympia were winding mountain roads. All in good shape but not straight like highway.
