They would have to first decide their interests, art, history, scenery, hiking, mountains, water...on and on. One week each in London, Paris and Rome would fit the bill nicely.

I just read your other post. You have decide on Croatia and Greece?

Fly into London and spend a few days.
Take a budget flight over to Prague.
Then take a train down to Vienna.
Finish your trip b taking a train down to Budapest--home of the best honky tonks for young people anywhere.
Fly home from there.

That's the Bohemian Trip

Marisa since your post is on the Greece Forum are you possibly asking for suggestions for a Greece itinerary?

Almost everybody who goes to Greece goes to Athens. Then some travelers focus on Islands, others focus on the mainland. On the mainland the Peloponnese, Delphi, and Meteora seem to be the most popular places. Only a small percent of Americans are likely to go to Thesaloniki and northern Greece, Rhodes - the island far east of Crete, or the town of Corfu and the site of Ancient Olympia in Western Greece. You should start by reading Rick Steves guide to greece. You can't go wrong picking from what Rick recommends. But sophisticated travelers travel to sites that look appealing and not places only because they are popular. I liked "the Rough Guide to greece"; you could look at Fromers or Fodders guidebooks too. The eyewitness guides have too many illustrations and the text size is too small.

At the age of 20, your girls are technically old enough to sometimes spend parts of a day or more doing different sights or activities than you are doing.

Any updates to your itinerary? I’m planning a trip with daughters similar in age. As of now, we’re planning to fly to an island after arriving in Athens, then to split time between Santorini (3 nights), then either Mykonos or Naxos (also 3 nights) and then two nights in Athens at the end. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Most of us are older. since when did a lack of details stop us from giving advice?

For the OP, you do need to firm up a few ides like how much time you have, a budget and you basic interests. Then, view the Monday Night Travel Show that aired last night (4/25) which was all about trip planning. It was excellent. Don't try to do too much. Pay attention to the need for reservations at most places, the days things you want too see are closed, festivals and holidays that might impact the accessibility and prices of what you want to see, etc. As the father and grandfather of girls, I'd also recommend you read about how to stay safe.

Above all, Keep Asking Questions! There are no dumb questions. Experience is what you get when you don't have experience. Not everyone is too crotchety to help you out!

Jeff, this isn't the 20-year-olds who are asking .... it's a mother of one, somone who's been all over the placae, and who is doing the work FOR them, instead of having them experience the effort AND The fun, of their own research.... and not doing the research herself either. We should wait until Mom returns to supply a few details.

Hey marisa_kennedy,

Our Sea Turtle and Marine Conservation volunteer abroad programs will bring you to exotic locations that are nesting sites for turtles. By joining hands with trained biologists and local conservation groups you can help to secure the future of these creatures and also help raise awareness in the local community you will be living in. Volunteering Abroad in Costa Rica alongside trained biologists and go on beach patrols, witness nesting turtles, and hatching babies, assist with care of disabled turtles, feeding turtles and cleaning turtle hatcheries. Saving turtles and releasing older babies back into the ocean is a truly scintillating experience! From saving sea turtles in Costa Rica to working with turtles in the Maldives, there are plenty of sea turtle conservation projects waiting for you!
