600-2000 euros deductible. No Full Damage Waiver (zero deductible) for rental period of less than 7 days. No tire and wind shield insurance. a long list of exceptions. No cancellation within 7 days of arrival. Is this a joke?
Look at AutoEurope.
I used Costco Travel and they set me up with Sixt. Second time I've rented from Sixt and no problems. But then again, I've never had an accident. They had a better cancellation policy. Also, I have an annual travel insurance policy that includes car rental, so I didn't get the extra full damage waiver.
It's not a joke. Even US rental companies charge an arm and a leg for full damage waiver coverage.
The deductible looks standard.
But I second the advice to use Auto Europe. They're a great broker and if you feel like you need it, they offer their own zero-deductible cover at a much lower price that rental companies (it is less user-friendly, though, because you have to file a claim). Auto Europe bookings are cancellable up to 48 hours before pick-up.
Athens Car Rental is not a joke and they are a reliable company. I found price and service to be good in comparison. YMMV.
However, you will need to read the terms and conditions for any company you use. I also like AutoEurope, but they are not the rental company - so read up on what you are getting THROUGH them. It can vary country to country and company to company.
You can also buy your own separate insurance policy for the trip. I do that when i rent through Costco. They are pretty inexpensive.
