How would you spend 4 days in Santorini? Is 4 days too long?
Is 4 days too long?
Without the context of what the rest of your trip includes, its a challenge to offer a meaningful answer.
Really depends on what you want to do; kickback and rest or to be 'doing ' something
Hike down to Amoudi Harbor, visit Akrotiri, walk around Oia, and look at caldera view. Four days or nights.?We found four nights much too long on our first trip there. Couldn’t wait to get away from mobs of tourists.
Santorini is crowded and expensive at peak travel times so how long depends partly on budget and tolerance. We stayed 3 nights (2 full days) and would have enjoyed one more day but not two. It also depends in my view on your choices for alternative uses of your time. We spent the day we might have spent on santorini on Naxos and we’re glad we made that choice.
But we have friends who happily spent a week in santorini. They were there in April before the tourist season. They also had jackets on in every picture. We went in mid May and while more crowded it was manageable and summer weather.
We will be there in first week of October. Cant take off from work before that
Beth how long was the commute to Naxos? Day trips possible?
I don't think the ferry is set up for day trips between Naxos and Santorini.
I enjoyed spending most of a day in the small town of Megalochori on Santorini. One day I took a day-long bus tour of the island, with stops at Akrotiri, a winery, a couple of beaches, and maybe 45 minutes in Megalochori. Liked the town so much that I returned the next day by public bus, and spent the day strolling the town, photographing, visiting a few shops, and enjoyed a fine lunch at Feggera. Recommended if you like small towns.
Not too long. 4 days will fly by.
Santorini’s location makes it too far for day trips to other Cycladic Islands.
