Hi , we are thinking of adding Ios to our Greek Island itinerary. Any suggestions for hotels ?
We are older so don’t need or want clubbing , but we would like near ( walking ) to a good beach and some nightlife ( cafes and restaurants) .
Any ideas
Know that Ios has the reputation of being particularly popular with young people who love nightlife and beach clubs.
It's mainly in summer during the school holidays but it's still the trend on the island.
According to one of your other posts you will be in Greece late May, so this nightlife side of Ios should be less present.
The only big village of Ios is Chora (near the port). This is where you will find the majority of accommodation, taverns, supermarket and shops as well as in Mylopotas the village which adjoins Chora.
In the other villages you will only find one or two restaurants and some accommodation. The few buses that go there are those that leave from the port. So if you don't have a car these are not options.
According to your other posts you are looking for an island to go to from Naxos. I suggest you look in the Small Cyclades islands: Iraklia, Schinoussa, Koufonissia. But otherwise, also and especially Amorgos Island.

I have not been to Ios but I agree with JoLui that Amorgos would be a great choice for a couple of days. There are two ports — Katapola and Aegali. We stayed in Katapola, and loved our hotel Porto Katapola.
