Ionian Islands in May

Traveling on my own last 10 days in May. Starting in Preveza, on Ionian coast. What suggestions for an efficient moderately priced mode of travel (e.g., public ferry, boat hire, cruise, etc. from Kefalonia north through Corfu? What is best route to take? What must-sees & time allotments along the way??? Thanks!
PS Any suggestions for efficient sea route from Corfu to Venice? Or cheaper to fly?

THere are not as many responders on this website who frequent the Ionian Islands .... there are many such on the Trip Advisor Greece travel forum, mainly from UK. This is partly because those islands were under British rule for so long, and also because there are so many direct flights and "package holidays" to those islands from Britain. As for best way to get to Venice from Corfu, I think the main way would be fly to ATH & change for a Venice flight, I'd be surprised if there were ANY sea routes except a cruise.

My recommendation is to rent a car and use car ferries from your various points. This will give you the most ability to explore and cover more sights within your time frame. Check Rome to Rio website for various options. I know you state you will start in Preveza, but if you can, consider starting in Corfu (or Igoumenitsa, if you are flying/traveling from the mainland, to Corfu). You can car ferry to Corfu then from there car ferry to Kefalonia and back up to Preveza. Easy Jet has direct flights from Corfu to Milan, which could get you within a train ride to Venice. Ioannina has several flights to Athens as well.
