Leaving Athens, in about 90 minutes you reach Tragana Toll Station. The next 50 km or so run right along the coast. Any or all of those towns are perfectly quaint with cafes and tavernas for dining, surely plenty of beaches along that stretch, too.
But, my best hidden gem is to be found right here. Also very swimmable but that's not the main draw:

It's a short detour from direct Athens to Meteora route and along the way you will pass the Pyli Stone Bridge.
For the best photos or videos it's easy to wade out to the middle of the stream.
