Hydra vs Kardamyli

We are planning a summer vacation in Greece and pretty much following Rick Steve's Peloponnese road trip. Currently, we are deciding how many nights we should spend at Kardamyli and Hydra. We have a total of 5 nights to split between the two. At the present, we have scheduled 3 nights in Hydra and 2 nights in Kardamyli and we are thinking of switching the nights around. We would be happy to hear what you have to say if you have been to both places.

The rest of our itinerary incudes 3 nights in Santorini, 3 nights in Nafplio, 2 nights in Monemvasia, 1 night in Olympia, 1 night in Delphi and then 4 nights in Athens (includes a day trip to Meteora to see the monasteries).

Thank you,

We did the RS tour so had 2 nights at each locale, Hydra and Kardamyli. Would have been happy to spend another day/night at either.

Given the time it takes to get to/from Hydra, I think the 3 nights there would be my choice.

I do not see a 'wrong' choice.

Anyone know if Kardamyli is the stop for the RS tour this year? We go in April. The itinerary just shows a seaside village.

There's more to see and do in Hydra, shops and restaurants, a small but beautifully picturesque pier/marina and a couple of sights, and scenic hiking trails. Kardamyli is a one-street village with a beach.
