We have several days in and around Athens in June 2017. We are wondering if anyone has an opinion or tip about going to Hydra on a Monday (having arrived the day prior), or going on Saturday or Sunday at the end of our visit. Our other plans include Athens top sights and a 4 day tour of the Peloponnese. Many thanks!

Assuming you are arriving from the US on Sunday, a day trip to Hydra on the next day may be a a good transition to recoup and get over jet lag.
Hydra is someplace you can enjoy at a leisurely pace

I think that Joe is right about it being a good place to rest and have a leisurely day on the island after your arrival in Athens. On the other hand, however, it would be a nice place to relax and enjoy the end of your visit after 5-6 days of active sightseeing in the area. I loved Hydra and it's laid back atmosphere, no cars, etc.
